I figure we're far enough in the story here now that I can post a link to this non-FAQ about our cute villains without any major spoilers.

It's not got any info that's vitally important to the plot that hasn't or won't eventually be explained (or hinted at enough that you can figure it out on your own) in the comic, but there's some extra not so important stuff and some clarification if you're confused.
