I'm a little wary about announcing this now, but I may as well go ahead and do it.

I'm thinking about ending this comic early.

When I originally conceived of this story it was made up of several parts. Five originally, but it's since been scaled back to two. They wouldn't be labeled that way in the comic, but in my mind they are. The first part would end at the end of chapter 9. I'm thinking about ending the story at chapter 9.
My primary reason being that I've been working on this comic for a long time and not had a lot to show for it. It's not very popular and I haven't been able to make any sort of business out of it. I've wanted to be a professional comic artist for a long time and Rift isn't the comic that's going to get me there. I think maybe once it reaches a good stopping point I should just leave it for a while and make more time to work on other things. I might pick it back up again in the future.

Mind you the end of chapter nine is a ways off (it's still early in chapter seven) so Rift'll have at least another year, possibly two, of solid updates. If the comic somehow becomes wildly popular and/or successful in that time I'll definitely keep going to the end. Think of it like a TV show that was planned to have two seasons but was canceled after the first one due to poor ratings.

I'm messing with the site layout and colors. Pardon the mess for now, I'll probably finish in the morning.

I don't know why some of the text color changed and some didn't.

I've been working on this for a while now but it's finally ready.

How come my number of fans keeps going up despite the fact that I couldn't update for like a month? This is madness I say, MADNESS!!

So, uh, mini announcement I'm back at school so updates will be resuming on wednesday. I probably won't have time to make up for all the lost ones as I'd hoped but I may still try to squeeze in an extra page here and there when I'm able.

Okay I started making a new layout based on the one I have on the domain site. It still needs some tweaking clearly. I'm having trouble making some of the parts that are still grey and white the color I want (yellow and/or black) I guess I'm just missing the bit of code I need to edit.
Anyway the site is still functional so I'm gonna leave it as is for a little while.

Hey I got reviewed in the latest SmackTalk! It is mostly positive too.

Actually I don't think there's anything negative in there that I'd disagree with. I do need new character profiles and I need to make a custom layout here.
If you found me because of the review and like the comic please consider going over to the main site and signing up for the forums. I keep most of the extras and such over there as well, although I just redesigned so there's not so much there right now.

I'm afraid I'm gonna have to postpone the next page until tomorrow afternoon.  I hate to do this but I don't feel well at all.  I've been very depressed lately and school is stressing me out. I'm very sorry but I hope you guys will understand.

Oh yeah and I broke the forum sign up trying to install a bot blocker, I think I'll try to replace the whole forum soon or do away with it entirely. I guess let me know if you have a preference either way.
